Applied Behaviour Change Course

Applied Behaviour Change Course

Description

The Applied Behaviour Change Course is an eight-module CPD certification that teaches practitioners how to make their advice actually happen. It is written for personal trainers, health coaches, physiotherapists, nutrition professionals, sports therapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, nurses and allied health professionals who already know what a client should do, and want to become genuinely skilled at helping them do it. The course begins with the science, the neuroscience of habit, reward, executive function and stress, and the evidence-based models that let you diagnose why a specific client is stuck rather than guessing. It then moves into the consultation room with practitioner-ready scripts, into structured assessment and screening, and into the interpretation of the blood, DNA, epigenetic, wearable, body composition and bone data clients increasingly arrive with. From there it covers integrated programme design, multidisciplinary pathways and referral networks, the commercial models that make behaviour change a paid service rather than free advice, and the professional, ethical and legal framework that governs all of it. Throughout, the emphasis is on working clearly within scope: practitioners deliver coaching, education and behaviour change support, while diagnosis and clinical management remain with qualified healthcare professionals. By the end you will be able to run a behaviour change service to a consistently high professional, ethical and legal standard.

Prerequisites

This course is designed for practising health, fitness and allied health professionals, including personal trainers, strength and conditioning coaches, health and lifestyle coaches, physiotherapists, sports therapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, nutrition professionals, nurses and pharmacists. No prior knowledge of behavioural science or psychology is assumed; the science is taught from first principles within the course. What is assumed is an existing professional practice, an understanding of your own scope of practice, and appropriate professional indemnity insurance. Please note that completing this CPD course provides educational knowledge only. It does not qualify any practitioner to diagnose or treat medical or mental health conditions, to interpret clinical test results outside their own registered scope, or to deliver psychological therapy. Where a client's presentation falls outside your scope, the course teaches you to recognise it and refer.
